Even when societies confront challenges at national, multi-national or global scales, cities provide economies of scale and convenience that can help to deliver needed services efficiently and to provide a sense of connectedness for residents and visitors. For migrants, cities provide not only the possibility of a new beginning but also the promise of new opportunities and a fresh start in a new place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
